Fellowship of the Least Coin

The FLC and You

The simplicity of the Fellowship of the Least Coin movement has caught the imagination of people on every continent.

Just as the gathering of many “least coins” yields money with which to respond to human need around the world, so individual prayers offered by FLC participants create a strong force in the global struggle for peace, justice and reconciliation.

You are invited to participate in the Fellowship of the Least Coin to pray for peace in our world and for the healing of broken relationships among individuals. Anyone – individuals or groups – can participate.

Here are a few simple suggestions:

• Commit to spending time every day in prayer for peace, justice and reconciliation
• Pray for your own relationships with others.
• Pray for others who are victims of jealousy, hatred, violence and injustice.
• Pray using the Prayer Concerns, the Circle of Prayer, or the FLC prayer.
• Set aside a penny (the least coin of Canada) as an active symbol of that prayer being answered.
• It is important that only the “least coin” is set aside, so that even the poorest woman in every corner of the world can participate equally.
• Join with others to create a “fellowship” in your community.
• Meet once a year to hold an “ingathering” service, to prayerfully commit your collected least coins to God’s service.
• Send these least coins to the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada, which will then forward the collections for all of Canada to the global FLC fund.
